“Measurement is the first step that leads to control and eventually to improvement. If you cannot measure something, you cannot understand it. If you cannot understand it, you cannot control it. If you cannot control it, you cannot improve it.”
It's a whole new world now
As most know, EFI/ECU tuning has become “the” focalpoint with modern race engines.
You can build the best engine on the planet, but it comes down to the skills the tuner has to make it come to life.
As many have found out the hard way, some builders are having a tough time with it. Experience and the right tools is what counts here.
Fortunately, our years of EFI/ECU tuning on all the common platforms and our advanced data acquisition systems give us an edge others simply can’t match.
If you cannot measure it, you cannot improve it
An in-house dyno is essential for any engine development program, period. While most have one, rarely will they have the other tools needed to complete the job:
• 5-Gas Emission analyzer – “If you don’t know what’s coming out, you don’t know what’s going on inside.”
• 4-Channel EGT Analysis – This is the only way to measure changes in combustion efficiency.
• PLEX® Digital Knock System – The most sophisticated knock detection system in the world.
If you’re going to do it right, you need all three.
Four-Stroke mods:
When the piston and rings work better, you will move more air, with higher velocity.
Port design must be addressed, but the typical cam profiles available simply won’t work for us, that’s why we use our own.
Cutting edge design software and our unique production capabilities allows us make what we need.
Two-Stroke mods:
Key to these engines is port timing, cylinder head and pipe design. They all work together, change one and you change them all.
This makes power band development a unique challenge and is where we part ways with the conventional approach. Since we’re moving at least 10-15% more air, the standard “formulas” no longer apply.
For example, the porting used on an 85 is different than that of a 105. Why is that? Because the 105 moves more air. Getting the idea?
And the same goes for head design and compression. No worries, we have this covered.
What does this mean for you?
It means you get a custom built engine with a powerband that’s designed to bring the best out of your rider regardless of talent level.
Beginner, intermediate or professional riders get what’s needed and nothing they don’t.
Our unique approach to engine development and 20 years of experience guarantee you’ll be racing the most competitive (and the easiest to maintain) race bike available today.
“I have to be honest. Thinking a top-end could go 3x longer between rebuilds sounded crazy to me. Not anymore, I’m a believer” Jon Thompson – NC
